About MBM
I’m RM McKinley, the photographer, creative director, and quiet observer behind McKinley Boutique Media. Based in northern British Columbia and working across BC and Alberta, I create emotionally honest portraiture for people who are ready to be seen.
MBM was born from a refusal to look away from shame, from beauty, from transformation. Whether I'm photographing athletes in motion, survivors in transition, or lovers reclaiming their stories, my work is rooted in reverence. Every image is treated as fine art.
I offer bespoke sessions in:
Intimate Portraiture | Boudoir & Dudeoir | Athlete Profiles | Fine Art Nude | Editorial & Environmental Portraits | Commercial & Event Coverage
These aren’t cookie-cutter photo shoots. They’re cinematic, collaborative experiences designed to reflect your truth, not someone else’s version of perfection.
You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to “perform.” You just need to show up as you are. I’ll guide you with intention, light, and presence: no fluff, no filters, just the raw materials of your life rendered with care.
If you’ve ever felt invisible or underestimated, this is your space.
If you’ve ever longed to see yourself the way others do, this is your time.
MBM sessions are more than portraits. They’re reclamations.
Let’s make something unforgettable.

owner / photographer
By day, I work in the realm of land use and environmental planning for the BC provincial government. By night, and every stolen weekend hour, I photograph, read, write, and cook like I’m trying to impress someone.
McKinley Boutique Media is the creative half of my life. It’s where I slow down, pay attention, and make images holding weight. This work is a practice of presence. A rebellion against superficiality. A love letter to complexity and quiet transformation.
I’m not here to chase trends or fabricate perfection. I’m here to see you clearly — and show you what I see.

archie is our handsome, six-year-old Bengal. He’s intelligent, independent, and endlessly curious. Equal parts co-pilot and quality control manager, he can usually be found supervising edits, stealing the best light, or pretending not to care about anything (while secretly caring about everything).
He doesn’t pose for just anyone. But when he does, it’s art.

olive is our striking five-year-old Bengal. She’s inquisitive, playful, and quietly observant. She prefers soft landings, warm sunbeams, and watching the world from just out of reach (unless you have treats).
She may be cautious at first, but don’t be fooled, she’s the heartbeat of the studio, with a gaze that misses nothing.
